Hazard and Risk Maps for your BDRRM PLAN
The Barangay-Level Housing Unit Spot Map 2015 Database Assessment Report: CY 2024 presents a detailed spatial analysis of the housing units across all 48 barangays in the Municipality of Rosario, Batangas. This report is a significant step forward from earlier mapping efforts, utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to create an accurate and comprehensive representation of residential units and key landmarks within the municipality. It serves as a critical resource for local planning, policy-making, and development initiatives.
The report draws on data from the Minimum Basic Needs - Community-Based Information System (MBN-CBIS) Family Survey 2015. Each occupied housing unit was geotagged by Community Volunteer Monitors (CVM) using Android devices, ensuring precise geographic data collection. Every family in the survey was assigned a Family Identification Number (FIDN), corresponding to the serial number of the MBN-CBIS Family Survey Form. This unique identifier was linked to each geotagged housing unit, allowing for an accurate database that integrates survey data with housing locations.
In contrast to earlier maps generated in 2008 under the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), the 2015 spot maps provide a far more accurate and functional representation of Rosario’s barangays. The 2008 maps, while useful for delineating puroks and identifying major landmarks such as schools, churches, barangay halls, and road networks, lacked the precision of GIS-based mapping and were limited to providing general layouts without precise administrative boundaries.
The 2015 Barangay-Level Housing Unit Spot Map goes beyond visual representation by providing a geospatially accurate tool that can be used for urban planning, resource allocation, infrastructure development, and monitoring socio-economic conditions at a granular level. This data-rich resource can support better decision-making and help track the progress of development programs across the municipality.
However, given that this survey was conducted in 2015, the data may no longer fully reflect current housing patterns and demographic shifts in the municipality. To maintain the report's relevance and accuracy, it is recommended that an updated survey be conducted. Continuous integration of modern GIS technology with real-time data will ensure that Rosario’s development initiatives remain informed and responsive to its population’s evolving needs.
In summary, this report offers a critical foundation for informed policy and decision-making, providing a detailed and spatially accurate view of housing units and barangay landmarks. Moving forward, the municipality should prioritize updating this data to capture the latest developments and ensure the sustainability of urban and rural growth initiatives.
Barangay Maps 2015 MBN-CBIS Survey
The Barangay-Level Housing Unit Spot Map 2015 provides a comprehensive and accurate representation of housing units across all 48 barangays of the Municipality of Rosario, Batangas. This report utilizes advanced Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, offering precise data on housing locations and important landmarks, which marks a significant improvement over previous mapping efforts.
Prior to the 2015 spot map initiative, the barangays of Rosario were mapped in 2008 as part of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). These maps were created to delineate puroks within barangays and identify key landmarks such as churches, schools, commercial establishments, barangay halls, waiting sheds, and the road network.
However, since these 2008 maps were produced without the benefit of GIS, they were limited in accuracy. The maps provided only a general representation of each barangay’s layout, and their usefulness was largely confined to visualizing the relative positioning of landmarks and residential areas rather than producing precise administrative boundaries.
Despite these limitations, the maps played an important role as a diagnostic tool for assessing poverty levels at the barangay, and municipal levels.
