Hazard and Risk Maps for your BDRRM PLAN
The land area in hectares for each barangay of the Municipality of Rosario, Batangas, was determined through Geographic Information System (GIS) methodologies. These procedures included the georeferencing of scanned Cadastral Survey Maps from the Municipality of Rosario, Batangas CAD-426-D, originally obtained from the former DENR Land Management Bureau (LMB) Office in Binondo, Manila. The LMB, now located at the Estuar Building along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City, is an agency under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) responsible for administering, surveying, managing, and disposing of Alienable and Disposable (A&D) lands in the Philippines.
As part of the GIS process, a secondary layer comprising scanned tax maps from the Office of the Municipal Assessor of Rosario, Batangas, was georeferenced and overlaid onto the cadastral map layer. This overlay process facilitated the integration of additional map attributes such as barangay names, tax map sections, Assessor's Lot Numbers, Municipal Districts, Barangay Clusters, RHU Catchment Areas, and land area measurements in hectares, among other details.
Following the georeferencing, the combined maps were digitized to produce a vector layer containing these detailed attributes. The entire GIS project, conducted over nearly eight years from 2012 to 2020, was led by GIS Specialist Manuel Luis Quizon. This comprehensive effort has provided a valuable and accurate digital representation of the land area distribution in the municipality.
