VI. PARTNERSHIP AND PARTICIPATION

Disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) is a shared responsibility that requires strong partnerships and active community engagement. This component focuses on fostering collaborative networks between LGUs, national government agencies (NGAs), the private sector, civil society organizations (CSOs), and volunteer groups to enhance disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.

LGUs establish formal agreements, service-level partnerships, and accreditation mechanisms to coordinate disaster response initiatives such as relief distribution, medical services, psycho-social support, and security assistance. These partnerships strengthen the LGU’s capacity to effectively manage disasters through joint planning, contingency measures, and resource sharing.

Additionally, participation in national and regional DRRM activities, such as the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, Disaster Resilience Month, and Gawad KALASAG programs, ensures continuous learning and capacity-building. Through active collaboration and engagement, LGUs and their partners can enhance disaster resilience and build safer communities together.
